Taika Waititi has spoken about not being very aware of the rest of the MCU when making her Thor movies. However, he received advice from James Gunn to write the Guardians (including Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord) – which appear in Thor: Love and Thunder.
“All I did was write down what I thought the characters (the Guardians) looked like, I sent those pages to James (Gunn) and he was like, ‘Star -Lord wouldn’t say that”. The same with Thor on Infinity War and Endgame, I just came to help with the way Thor speaks and writing the script about it, so “This is how Thor would come into it, this is how Thor would comment on it,” Waititi told Digital Spy.
“It’s really cool that we directors and writers in the MCU can share this information and help each other. Other than that, I didn’t really care to know anything about the other movies. It’s so stressful to focus on just one movie. He added that he has “no idea” what Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is.
Waititi concluded; “My job is to do everything I can to put the maximum of myself in the film, and then rely on Marvel and Kevin, in particular, to say, ‘You don’t have to do this because in four years I I have a movie coming. who needs this character, so you can’t kill them. ”
Thor: Love and Thunder will be in theaters worldwide starting July 8. Fans will be thrilled to see Natalie Portman’s return to the MCU, as she takes on the mantle of The Mighty Thor.
