Slogan Writing Contest: The Tribune India

Jalandhar: To commemorate the 75th anniversary of independence “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the political science department of PCM SD College celebrated “Indian Constitution Day”. The department held a slogan writing competition. Participants from different classes presented their slogan on the theme “Indian Constitution”. The purpose of this competition was a highlight and importance of the Constitution and to show the key role played by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the preparation of the draft Constitution. The students showed great interest in this competition. The winners were Loveleen and Pooja (BA, semester III), Rajni (BA, semester III) and Bhavika and Sejal (BA, semester I).

Digital library for students

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya KMV has made her smooth transition to digital education, said Director Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi. She said that KMV’s Balbir Raj Sondhi Library has moved to the digital platform for student facilitation. The KMV library houses around 1 lakh of books as well as journals and magazines. The library provides the “Open Access Catalog” service to students whereby students can easily determine which book is available in the library. Along with this, the library also has many online resources / databases, namely N-list, DELNET and NDLI. All of these resources are also available on the college’s website. Facilitating the students, the library has also registered all the students on a virtual platform. Dr Dwivedi said that KMV has always taken the initiative in providing digital education to its students. She further argued that students can now also enjoy the benefits of the library on the digital platform as they will get all kinds of electronic resources for their studies with just one click.

LPU lifts football, boxing trophy

Lovely Professional University is on a winning streak. The university was a finalist in the Football Championship (Women), which took place at Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. In boxing (men), LPU boxers have proven their worth. Dr M Raja Shekaran, director and organizing secretary of the All India Inter University women’s football tournament, said the LPU won the bronze medal. The LPU women’s team dominated the match. Previously, the LPU women’s football team had secured the coveted position at the IAU-2021 North Zone Interuniversity Championship. Professor V Kaul, secretary of the All India Inter University Boxing Tournament, informed that the LPU was second in winning three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. LPU Pro-Chancellor Rashmi Mittal has asked the players to follow in the footsteps of the Olympians. TNS
