The Realme 9 Pro will come with a new color-changing design, it has been revealed.
Realme has announced the presence of a “Light Shift Design” in its next version, which will make the Realme 9 Pro “Europe’s first ‘chameleon’ smartphone”, according to the company.
This will take the form of a Sunrise Blue tint in which the back panel of the phone changes from blue to red when subjected to sunlight. It will then turn blue again when it returns to the shade.
We’ve seen color-changing phones before, but none have changed as quickly as the 9 Pro, which claims a five-second delay.
Realme says new techniques have been used to achieve that chameleon effect, with innovations that range from “layer thickness and color-changing shape to bond strength to adhere layers of glass and lifetime of transition times”.
Flashy colors aside, Realme has also hinted at some of the more basic design components of the 9 Pro. This includes a slim body of 7.99mm, making it the thinnest phone in the series, as well as a weight of 182g.
Realme has been making efforts to expand into new territories in recent years, and those efforts continue with the 9 Pro, which will be announced first for the European market in the coming days.
This is the latest pre-announcement information release from Realme, which revealed last week that the Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+ will be powered by the Dimensity 920 5G chip.
