City council, school board and neighborhood sit for campaign in Rockland


ROCKLAND — The Rockland City Clerk has announced the municipal seats that will be elected in the November 8, 2022 municipal election.

The offices and mandates that will be available are:

City Council: 2 seats (Glaser, Davis) 3-year terms. Signatures: 100-150

RSU #13 Board of Directors (3-year term): 2 seats (Avirett, Martz) Signatures: 100-150

RSU #13 Board of Directors (2-year term): 1 seat (White) Signatures: 100-150

Chief Electoral Officer: 1 seat (Vacant) 1 year term Signatures: 15-30

Ward Clerk: 1 seat (Vacant) One-year term Signatures: 15-30

Candidates may submit as many nomination papers as they wish. The number of signatures required is as follows:

For RSU #13 City Council and Board of Directors, must have at least 100 or more than 150 signatures of registered voters in Rockland to be eligible for placement on the ballot. It is suggested that candidates collect at least 120-125 signatures to ensure they have sufficient numbers to qualify for placement on the ballot. (Please note that anyone taking papers for the RSU #13 Board must declare which term they are running for, either one of the 3 year terms or the 2 year term).

For the Electoral Officer and the Ward Clerk, not less than 15 nor more than 30 signatures are required.

Deadline: Nomination materials can be picked up beginning July 11, 2022 and must be dropped off at the City Clerk’s office no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 9, 2022.

Written Candidates: Anyone wishing to be considered a written candidate for any of the above positions must file a written nomination no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 9, 2022.
